Is it helping you to effectively manage and grow demand in the age of online retail and omni-channel order fulfillment? The answer, according to Dr. Chaman Jain, is probably not, or at least not to the extent that it should.<\/p>\n<p>It stands to reason that a business management process that was created in the 1980s, and before the advent of eCommerce, requires updating. To modernize S&amp;OP, Dr. Jain advocates for dedicated eCommerce teams within the S&amp;OP process. Such a team, he argues, should monitor regularly and closely the e-commerce market, make plans, and communicate them to Demand Planners for action.
